The best frozen yogurt place has hit Mt. Pleasant and stolen Amanda's, Mary's and my heart. We had been anticipating the opening for a couple of months and were so excited to finally try it a couple weeks ago. We've all been back several times since, but I wanted to share our first visit with you all.
We were immediately greeted by the manager and staff who were very excited when I asked to take pictures. They offered to show us how the self-service ice cream pumps and gave us mini cups to sample as many flavors as we could. There were tons of flavors to choose from. Here's Mary serving herself the kiwi strawberry sorbet.
Now that I mention sorbet, I must let you guys know that Menchie's has something for everyone: nonfat, dairy-free, low-carb, gluten-free, no sugar added, and kosher. Everybody wins! There are a ton of rotating flavors, including seasonal options like pumpkin and praline 'n cream. Mmmm.
At the snackage bar, there are candy pieces, granola, cookies, nuts and sprinkles.
At the chill bar, there are fresh fruit, cookie dough, brownies, and cheesecake bits.
The "hotties" toppings include hot fudge, caramel sauce, non fat / no sugar-added fudge.
Just imagine how long it took me to choose my creation! I decided to swirl two flavors: red velvet and cake batter.
I topped the fro yo with frozen cookie dough balls, heath bar bits, and hot fudge. Menchie's doesn't have set prices either -- you pay by weight. Mine only cost $2.30. What a steal!
The employees encourage you to write your combination on the chalkboard to give other patrons inspiration.
Menchie's is such a fun place and we can't get enough! The decor is very modern and brightly colored. The best part is that they have frequent buyer cards and Tuesdays are double punch days! If you haven't been to Menchie's, you need to go TODAY!
YES! Menchies freaking rocks! I didn't know Tuesdays were double punch days though- gotta get on that :)
ReplyDeleteI die for Menchie's. Die.
ReplyDeleteMmm, I want a Menchies here in Portland!! tell them to come to Portland!! :D
ReplyDeleteYUM - I think they're opening something similar in Greenville called 32 Below. I'll have to check that out. Even amidst the freezing cold, you just got me hungry!

We have a similar FroYo place here in Raleigh called Marmalade Skies. I am OBSESSED. And my punch card is full so I get mine free next time I go... score!
ReplyDeleteOh fun!!! I don't think we have them in VA but my friend in Ohio was telling me about this place! I can't wait to try it next time I visit!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to go to a fro-yo place. I ALMOST had my friends on board a couple weeks ago- but we were just too stuffed. :(
ReplyDeletemmm, frozen yogurt is one of my favorite things! we finally got a yagoot here, and i can't wait to go there soon...even though it's cold outside now.
ReplyDeleteyummy, this place looks great!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Pinkberry! So good!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE MENCHIES! So glad you were able to enjoy it as well! Red Velvet sounds delectable!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how are we not related? One just moved in near me, I could sample all day, lol. I wish that had my little Japanese marshmallows:(
ReplyDeleteYUM! I need that now!
ReplyDeleteSo yeah, Menchies pretty much looks like heaven. I think they should open a dairy-free version across the street from me. I'll ask Santa..
ReplyDeleteWe had the best Froyo place in Germany and I've been having withdrawals ever since we got home! So excited to hear about this place! Where is it exactly??
ReplyDeleteI love frozen yogurt places! The only problem is that I have NO self control there. I overdo it on yogurt before even making it to the toppings..then those all looks so good!
ReplyDeleteOMG, I've been gone from the blogosphere for over a week and just now visiting your blog. I LOVE the new look! Man, how do you gals get such nice websites?! It sure is inviting!
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of Menchies, but now that I have and have seen these awesome pics, I'm certainly miffed we don't have one here. BOOO! Holy geez, I would have had to pay a LOT for mine because I'd eat so much. Red Velvet Cake and Cake Batter- are you sure we aren't sisters??!!?!
Where in Mt Pleasant is it located??
ReplyDeleteCute blog! Frozen yogurt is my FAVORITE thing ever!
ReplyDeleteCake batter froyo--my fave! I want some now, but it's not happening. :(
ReplyDeleteWe have a place like that down here called Cherry Berry! I love it. I happened upon it one day while running errands with my toddler. It's now a regular stop for us! Yup yum. Their Red Velvet is my favorite, and the best part is, it's a great healthy alternative to other ice cream places out there.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that place looks amazing! I think I would want to go there every night to try out every possible flavour combo!
ReplyDeleteInformation. Overload. DEAR LORD!!!! I have to go! I have to go NOW!!!! Well, maybe over the weekend or something. Kinda super-duper busy to haul my ass out to Mt. P during the week.
ReplyDeleteAlso, someone misspelled my name on the board. It's not "SHEENA" it's "SHEANNA." LMAO!!!!
Self serve is the best!! I haven't been able to find any in NYC and the places I go to never give me enough toppings - Menchie's looks great!
ReplyDeleteI have no doubt that I'd be at Menchie's every day if there was one in my neighborhood. The decor is super cute! And your flavor combination sounds deeeviiine.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost glad that's not by me. I'd have to avoid going there every day... RED VELVET flavor? I'm so in. But I usually ruin stuff like this by adding wayyyy too many toppings... oops
ReplyDeletewhat a fun place. froyo is just the best! i loveeeee that you get to write your combo on the board. that makes me giddy with joy.
ReplyDeleteoh cute! I like the chalkboard idea!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE self serve froyo places! We have a couple in Columbia and my favorite so far is called Yumilicious. Next time I'm in Charleston I'll have to try out Menchies!
ReplyDeleteThat place looks amazing!! I've never been to a self serve place. I like the idea of red velvet frozen yogurt, it looks really good!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME--I am so so so jealous. Minnesota has zero self serve fro-yo places. Discusting I know.
