December Goals

I have always loved the 1st of the month. Starting fresh with a set of goals not only helps get things accomplished, but provides you with a list of things to look forward to! I have come up with a list of December goals for several aspects of my life.

Fitness:
  • Run the Reindeer 5k on December 4th, for fun. Last month's Pajama 5k gave me a new PR that I am very happy with (25:29), but I would like to enjoy this race. Being competitive with myself isn't always fun, but enjoying my time with friends in holiday spirit will be!
  • Continue to run 3x a week and strength train at least 2x.
  • Try a new class at the gym. I've been a member since January and have only done spinning and yoga. Pilates is looking good.
Personal:
  • Organize my closets. I have pretty clothes that aren't hanging pretty.
  • Fix the oopsies from when I painted my wall green.
  • Complete Christmas shopping within the next 3 weeks. Last minute shopping drives me crazy.
 Romantical:
  • Write a brutally honest post on what I have learned in the year that I have been single.
  • Stop telling boys to "get away from me" and "go away" at the bar just because I like my friends more. How rude.
  • Agree to go on a date with someone to whom I have previously told no/not considered. GAH!!!
 Educational:
Culinary:
  • Cook a Jewish recipe. Where are my Jew friends at? I've been staring at matzo balls like I love them but have no clue what they are.
  • Go vegetarian for a whole week without dying or sinking into a state of depression. I'm thinking December 5-11.
  • Find the Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea!!!!

I feel like these are all reasonable goals and hope I can complete most, if not all, of them. What are your December goals?

  1. Ahahaha... I laughed at the part about telling boys to go away because you're with your girls. I do the same thing. Or my friend will say, "he keeps looking at you, go make yourself approachable at the bar" and I'm like, "who? huh? don't care..."

My being single is totally on me. I get it. :p

  7. those are some good goals my friend. i have no december goals other than to find a sassy dress for New Year's and for said dress to be enough to entice a handsome fella for a kiss at midnight.

and if your boys that you tell "no" are fug then it's okay to tell them to get away.

  8. Good luck with your goals! Sometimes I try to go vegetarian during the work week and eat meat only on weekends, and it's really not that hard. I've only been single for 2 months but it's been ROUGH! Can't wait to read that post!

  12. These are great goals, m'dear! I'm LOVE the 1st of the month and also make goals (most of them are the same darn goals month after month that I didn't achieve previously, DOH!) but it's a great jump start to making necessary changes/habits!

My goals are to: floss daily, spend more time in prayer, lift 3x per week and cardio (HIIT) 3x per week, bake/cook something *new* each week, make better effort to connect with loved ones and BLOG more! :)

  13. Aw, lady, your romantical goals are sweet. However, maybe keep telling boys at bars to go away. Meeting boys in bars never ends up well from what I hear (back when I was on the market I used to tell boys in bars to go away too). This post has me inspired to make my own set of goals.

Right now my fitness goal is to remain alive while doing P90x. I have baby muscles now...I'm so proud. I think I might be giving up on my blog in favor of bigger goals/priorities.

  24. I'm actually posting my goals tonight too!! Learning to use my DSLR better is definitely on the list too. I can't believe it's December already!

Going meat-free for a week will be far easier than you anticipate. Just look at Mama Pea's blog and you'll understand why :)

  25. Oh my gosh, I do the EXACT same thing with boys at bars! I somehow turn into a mega-bitch when I'm drunk haha.

  28. I like all of these! I am totally thinking about the vegetarian thing. Although I am tempted to just start with once a week. I am working really hard on meal planning to help with calories and grocery budget, so I want to try to plan for one veggie recipe a week.

  29. I cannot wait to hear about all the romantic shizzle going on! My closet will never be organized. Every two wks I set aside a couple of hrs to organize then three days later I realize it was a waste of time.

  30. Have you never tried matzoh balls? They're DELICIOUS! If you want to cook a timely Jewish recipe, I just posted a super easy latke recipe on my blog: http://www.enjoyyourcheerios.com/2010/12/whatever-wednesday-happy-chanukah.html

  31. I love this! And I would love to hear what you learned being single. When I broke up with a boyfriend, who was a bandaid for the boyfriend before him, who was a bandaid for the one before that... I finally made myself go on a dating hiatus. Best thing I ever did!! And then I got married... :-)

  32. Haha..cute! I don't do goals per month per se, but I probably should.

I just need to get through the next few weeks without driving myself crazy and also try to balance the holiday craziness with cookies, music, and decorations!

  33. I found you via A Foodie Stays Fit and I'm so glad I did. I need some inspiration to help me with my goals for this month. Your post was exactly what I needed.

  34. I am stealing all three of your romantical goals...well, maybe not #1, but I'm looking forward to reading what you've learned! :-)

Matzoh balls are amazing! But I think latkes are even better...I've been wanting to try making them with sweet potatoes.
