Valentine’s Day Blogger Swap

For some, Valentine’s Day is about spending time with a significant other being all romantical and crap. For others, including me, it is about shoving pink & red colored candies down your throat and rejoicing in your singledom. (I like single – boyfriends get in the way. Literally and physically.)
The past few years that I have been boy-less, I exchanged gifts with girlfriends (Hi Callie, Jenna, Heera!) to celebrate this mushy day of romance. I’m 100% sure that I had more fun and received better presents from these ladies than all of my ex-boyfriends combined. With that said, I thought it would be fun to host a Valentine’s Day Blogger Swap, for both bloggers and readers.
The Plan:
Should you choose to join in on the swap, I will match you up with another blogger/reader to whom you will send a love package by the 14th of February. In return, you will receive a package from a different person. Package content ideas include: candy, snacks, small gifts, trinkets, etc. Be appropriate people. I don’t want to hear about anyone receiving creepy stuff.

What You Need to Do:

Please provide me with your name, address, and some information about yourself. Let me know things I can tell the person who will be sending your goodies. This information can include: your favorite colors, favorites candies, hobbies, interests, etc. If you have a blog, provide me with a link. If you have any allergies, you might want to list those as well. I would imagine we’d each spend around $10-15, but really, it’s up to you. Get creative! Have fun!

You must sign up for this by noon on Monday, January 23rd. You will receive your partner’s information by January 25th. Please be sure to mail out your goodies in time for your partner to receive them on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

What I’m Loving Wednesday Version 9.0

9 is my favorite number!

1. On the way up to VA last weekend, I read this little blurb in Food Network magazine:

Bring on the Halloween candy!!

2. I went down to the cafeteria at work and asked for a side of pickles. The incredibly awesome man in the deli gave me TWENTY TWO PICKLES. He’s my new hero fo sho.

3. And on the work note, I’m loving my new desktop background.

Seeing those cookies are a great way to start the day! Shout out to Matt in IT for taking that pic for me. :)

What I’m Loving Wednesday Version 5.0

1. Kira sent me a pic of the largest baby carrot I’ve ever seen. I can’t decide what I like more – the carrot or her Lilly bag.

2. When I bought my hideous blog shirt last week, I also noticed this gem at Homegoods: I could hardly believe my eyes – when did Mt. Pleasant get so fancy? Sadly, this does not match my bedroom. Or any room in my apartment for that matter. Could I hang it in my car? It certainly  matches there.

3. Phillip, my friend from Eco (former gym), sent me these pickle gifts he saw in Helen, Ga. Someone take me to Georgia STAT.

Pickle mints – nobody would kiss me.

Pickle soap – one more time, nobody would kiss me. Guess I shouldn’t go to Georgia.

If you eat Clif bars, which bar/flavor do you prefer? The Carrot Cake bar is heavenly. I also love the Kid Z Bars and I’m excited to try the new crispy version!

5. Sometimes I feel ultra creative after a glass of wine. I’m pretty sure he appreciated it, as his comment on it was: “It's just so special, I feel like everything I receive from here on out will pale in comparison.” Little does he know, I can do wonders with a box of markers.

First, I love that my city paper has it’s own deal program. Second, could this not have come in better timing? What’s the best deal you’ve gotten from all these daily deal sites? Most of mine have been food or jewelry-related purchases, so this one’s a big one for me!

5. The new phone I’m getting today! Meet the HTC Sensation. Nerd alert! I have been anticipating this purchase for several weeks and it was released today! The only sad thing is that I’m giving up my Blackberry. I know, this is crazy for me. I’ve had two different Blackberrys (Blackberries?) over the course of 3 years, but it’s time to let them go. They just aren’t keeping up with the times…and I really want an android phone so I can play Words With Friends!! Again, nerd alert. Who else has an android phone? What are the must-have apps?

I am loving these lately:

1. C.O. Bigelow lip products: Apple Rose Salve and Lemon Lip Cream. Both are so refreshing and Summery!

2. The fact that even at 26 years old, I still consult a Magic 8 ball for making life decisions. Ask8ball.net is the 8 ball of the 21st century.

3. Library books. I embrace my nerdiness.

4. Nerdiness would be an understatement.  This would explain why Ashley and I feel that it’s okay to “power up” with our matching rings.

5. PEEPS!! Justin reintroduced these into my life Thursday night. For the past 20-ish years, I’ve thought that I didn’t like them. Wrong. We ate these peeps in .2 seconds in the Target parking lot.

6. This sign from the tanning bed that I found in Ashley’s bedroom. It was on her desk, but I kindly placed it on her bed where it belongs.

7. The fact that we somehow managed to get half of the gym friends out on Friday night. Don’t ask me who the Bob Barker lookalike and his woman are. We just befriended them I guess.

8. Chick-fil-A. Did you think it wouldn’t be on this list? Ha.
