Prepping for the 5K and Due Date

So yesterday as I was reading your recommendations for my 5k playlist, a genius idea popped into my head. As per usual, I posted my thoughts to facebook.
My friend Joe is a DJ at 95SX and told me all I had to do was come into the station and we could record some tracks! I'm telling you guys...facebook has all the answers. Or Joe does. Either way. Right after work I drove over to the station to play. There were so many buttons and controls!! I did put on some headphones, though! Don't I look sassy?
While I Joe edited clips and played the hottest tracks, we had a little snack time. Clearly we both like pretzels. The 100 calorie pack was actually his and I stole a bunch. Why is the sweet & salty combo SO good?
We also shared some dried (candied?) pineapple. This stuff is addicting.
Joe recorded two motivational speeches for me to listen to while I run. They are hilarious and I wish I could post them on the blog. I know they will pump me up just as much as Lil Wayne - so thank you, Joe!
Then we made the traffic guy take a pic of us. Don't know what's up with my left eye slant -- could I be part of TLC? Haha. Long day at work people, stop judging.
Once Joe wrapped up at the station, we went to the movies to see Due Date. I had been wanting to see this movie for a while. Zach Galifianakis makes me laugh hysterically and I have always admired Robert Downey Jr. (minus his bouts of drug addiction).
Although the events in the movie were pretty predictable, there were funny parts. You can't help but laugh at Galiafianakis' facial expressions and mannerisms no matter what role he's in. As you may have seen in the previews, there is one part in particular that really made me chuckle. In a very serious tone, Ethan (played by Galifiniakis) tells Peter (Downey Jr.), "You better check yourself before you wreck yourself." Who says that?! I might steal it, use it, and abuse it.  Here's a youtube video in case you haven't seen it.

Hilarious. Have you seen Due Date or any other new releases? I still need to hurry up and see The Social Network! What is YOUR favorite movie of all time? Please share!

  8. Haha love the motivational speech idea! How fun that you were able to go to a radio station and make a recording. Someone should seriously release an album titled "I Run Faster Than Boys."

Favorite movies: Anchorman, The Holiday, Elf, Grease and Love Actually.

  9. Jeezy creezy...My eye does the SAME thing! Although I think my problem has more to do with facial deformity than a long day at work (although Lord knows I've had plenty of those). I WANT TO HEAR THE MOTIVATIONAL SPEECH...There has to be a way to get this on your blog. I just know it.

Favorite movies: The Lovely Bones (heavy subject matter and hard to get through, but it's a fabulous film), Love Actually (can watch this over and over again), Shawn of the Dead (effing HILARIOUS)....And I won't tell you the rest because it'll make me sound geekier than people already know I am. :)

  12. How cool that you now have your motivational tracks for running? I'm uber jealous.

As for movies, I'm a bigger fan of Netflix, so I'm like 3-4 months behind the rest of the civilized world. I just sent back Date Night and Couple's Resort. FYI: Couple's Resort is a horrible movie. Don't watch it.

I saw Due Date and seriously thought it was HILARIOUS. Not as funny as the hangover, but definitely a great movie! I also saw the Social Network and it's sooo good!
My favorite movie of all time is probably How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days (or any other chick flick lol). My friends literally had to convince me to see Due Date and the Social Network because they weren't chick flicks, but I'm happy they did!
    Have a great weekend :)

The most recent movie that I loved is The Social Network, I tell people that it's just not about Facebook, it's more than that....it's about friendship, betrayal, broken hearts and the story of a kid trying to fit in.
