What I’m Loving Wednesday

1. The day after my birthday, I had brunch at Crave Kitchen & Cocktails. I’ve been going there pretty regularly and am always so pleased with both the food and service. To eat, I had the veggie wrap: fresh garden vegetables with a hummus spread, feta cheese and lemon vinaigrette wrapped in a low carb lavosh wrap. I added smoked salmon to it and had sweet potato chips on the side. I love this wrap and daydream about it. IMAG2861

Chef Landen sent out an incredibly delicious slice of gluten-free salted caramel cake that Carmela makes. The frosting was definitely the best I’ve had in a long time.IMAG2866

2. I recently purchased 2 new bracelets from Handpicked: a sideways cross and a chevron bangle. I love them both so much!34

3. Thanks to Justin and his 4 billion channels, I’ve discovered an interesting show on National Geographic: Taboo. National Geographic - Taboo - The Complete Second Season (Boxset) Movie PosterThe show “explores behaviors and lifestyles that are acceptable in some cultures but forbidden, illegal or reviled in others.”

4. This heat wave is pretty sticky, but it provides for some glorious days on the boat. Yesterday, we went wakeboarding! I’ll post videos soon.photo (2)wake

Oh, Hey There.

I’m alive and well! Going over a week without posting has been, well… awesome. As rewarding as blogging is, it can be very tiring. Posting on a regular basis, coming up with material, and making sure readers are happy puts the pressure on us bloggers. Breaks are necessary!

But I’m back and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the past week (ish) since I lasted posted…

I celebrated my 28th birthday dinner with friends at O-Ku.DSC_0003

We enjoyed the most delicious carrot cake by Kinsey Sattane from The Indigo Road restaurant group.DSC_0006

I spent time with my very best friends…DSC_0012DSC_0009DSC_0008

…and the wonderful friends I’ve made in the past couple years. I can thank the blog for the connections I’ve made with these wonderful people. image

I’ve spent a lot of time in the sunshine, despite the scorching hot temperatures (that I love!).471142_10100217061024974_1487237602_o

Happy Birthday America!

And of course, I’ve been eating pickles.

So glad to be back. What have YOU been up to?

The Friday Five–Birthday Style!

On Saturday I will be turning…older. You can just pick a number.

1. What I’m Reading: My grandparents sent me The Glamour of Grammar for my birthday. I love it!

Brief description: This widely praised practical guide demonstrates everything from the different parts of speech to why effective writers prefer concrete nouns and active verbs. Above all, Clark teaches readers how to master grammar to perfect their use of English, to instill meaning, and to charm through their writing. In a world where we communicate more and more through emails and text messages, how you use language matters--even in 140 characters.

2. What I’m Listening to: I guess this kind of makes sense for my birthday. Okay, not at all. Maybe? Regardless, I love the song.

3. What I’m Eating: Well obviously I’ll be inhaling this Carrot Cake that Kinsey’s making for Saturday. That’s actually her in this pic! : )

4.  Pic I’m Loving: This picture is from 25 years ago. It’s like an ancient artifact!DSC_0432

What I’m Loving Wednesday 6.27.12

1. Snacks. I love love love snacks. I’d rather snack all day than consume meals. These kale chips by Rhythm Superfoods that my grandparents sent me were delicious.

The almond & apricot KIND bar was equally delicious.image

2. This “fresh cupcakes” scented air freshener from Bath & Body Works.  Do you understand how wonderful it is to get in your car and smell cupcakes?! As a bonus, it sparkles in the sunshine. You need to embrace your inner princess and buy one.image

3. This lotion from Bath & Body Works that I wear almost every day. People love it. Boys especially. (Not a joke.) It’s magical.image

Scent description: a seductive blend of dark berries with a kiss of vanilla to unleash your most primal passions. Key fragrance notes: sensual incense, Mirabelle plum, and night musk

4. I must wear headbands when I exercise. I have silly thick hair and both a headband and ponytail holder are necessary to control the mane. I found these headbands in the girls’ section of Target and immediately snatched them up. Obsessed.headbands

Dear God, please don’t let neons ever go out of style.

5. This e-card.Thank you!

6. So true!

7. CHARLESTON YOU ARE SO STINKING BEAUTIFUL!!!IMAG2837

(That was taken with my cell phone. Yup. This city is that pretty.)

What I’m Loving Wednesday

1. On my desk Tuesday morning, my coworker  left me this pin:IMAG2703

It’s perfect for me. Thanks Elizabeth!

2. These sandals I bought from Lulu’s.zebra

3. You can now buy ketchup in a pouch. This seems like a great way to always have a massive amount of ketchup stashed in my purse. Or have a disaster in my purse.IMAG2678

4. There are Uncrustables imposters at Wal-Mart! What! I wonder how they compare to the real deal. But who cares? My Cut ‘N Seal pocket sandwich maker arrived today, so I’ll be making plenty of my own Uncrustables imposters.IMAG2682

5. As of Monday, I have a new car: a 2010 Honda Accord. My first car was a stick shift, and I’ve missed it ever since. I discovered today that it is impossible to drive a manual in wedges, so I found my shoes a seat.IMAG2731

6. My birthday is in 10 days. This picture is from 22 years ago. Holy crud.bday

7. My friend Kinsey, is the pastry chef for The Indigo Road restaurant group (Oak, O-Ku, The Cocktail Club, and The Macintosh). For my birthday, she’s making me a Carrot Cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting and toasted pecans. I CANNOT wait.

Did you just drool too?
