Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies Giveaway

As a sucker for any baked good, especially those with chocolate, the Fiber One Chocolate Chip Cookies caught my eye as soon as they came out. My friend Rachel and I immediately tried them. They’re convenient, perfectly portioned, and packed with 5 grams of fiber.

The 90 calorie brownies come in three different flavors:

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie

Yumvelope Natural Snacks Review and Offer

I

love

snacks.

I really do. I’d rather snack all day than eat meals. You can call me Snacktina if you’d like. When Sam Gold, the founder of Yumvelope, offered to send me a month of snacks, I quickly said, “Yes, please!” Last week I received my first package.

Check out what was in the mix for May:

  • Glee Triple Berry, all natural gum
  • Earnest Eats Cran-Lemon Zest bar
  • Rise Crunchy Cashew Almond Breakfast bar – made of 7 simple ingredients
  • Stash Chamomile Herbal Tea – organic, Fair Trade, and caffeine free
  • Snackle Mouth Almond Pecan Maple granola clusters
  • Surf Sweets Gummy Bears

I had never heard of or seen any of these products. I love that! Along with the snacks, I received a notecard from Sam Gold, the founder of Yumvelope, with a description of each of the products. The best part (besides the snacks of course) is that you get discount codes for the product’s sites. For example, I can get 10% off Earnest Eats bars, free shipping on Rise Bars, and 25% off at abesmarket.com.

Interested in purchasing a subscription? Here’s some more info:image

    There are three payment options:image

But guess what? I have a coupon code for you! To receive 10% off of your  first month, use code hungrymeetshealthy156. The coupon expires August 10th, so hurry! Get your snack on!

Thank you, Sam, for allowing me to sample the snacks!

    What I’m Loving Wednesday 6.27.12

    1. Snacks. I love love love snacks. I’d rather snack all day than consume meals. These kale chips by Rhythm Superfoods that my grandparents sent me were delicious.

The almond & apricot KIND bar was equally delicious.image

    2. This “fresh cupcakes” scented air freshener from Bath & Body Works.  Do you understand how wonderful it is to get in your car and smell cupcakes?! As a bonus, it sparkles in the sunshine. You need to embrace your inner princess and buy one.image

    3. This lotion from Bath & Body Works that I wear almost every day. People love it. Boys especially. (Not a joke.) It’s magical.image

Scent description: a seductive blend of dark berries with a kiss of vanilla to unleash your most primal passions. Key fragrance notes: sensual incense, Mirabelle plum, and night musk

    4. I must wear headbands when I exercise. I have silly thick hair and both a headband and ponytail holder are necessary to control the mane. I found these headbands in the girls’ section of Target and immediately snatched them up. Obsessed.headbands

Dear God, please don’t let neons ever go out of style.

    5. This e-card.Thank you!

    New Favorite Foods

I love updating you guys on new foods that I’ve scouted out or become a fan of.

I ended a sentence in a preposition. Sorry! It would have sounded awkward otherwise, and though I usually epitomize the word awkward, I try to keep my writing a little less, um, weird. Onto the food!

    1. Blue Diamond Salt ‘N Vinegar almonds.

Not only will these satisfy your salty craving, you get a dose of protein and fiber. They’re very delicious without being a sodium overload.

    2. Publix all natural salsas. Publix Deli Salsa

Rachel and I picked up a tub of the medium salsa on Saturday. It’s really good! The ingredient list is clean, it’s got a great flavor, and isn’t too chunky. Chunky salsa is nasty.

    3. La Croix Peach-Pear sparkling water.

They now sell this canned at Target! It’s definitely  my new favorite La Croix flavor. On another note, I’m still not over how awful the Coconut flavor was. Blech.

Let me tell you a secret: Sometimes if I don’t like a bottle of wine, I add a bit of sparkling water to it. Then bam! I’ve got a tastier, more refreshing glass of happiness.

    4. Fiber One 90 Calorie Chocolate Chip Cookies

They’re soft, pack 5 grams of fiber, and contain only 8 grams of sugar. It’s a treat! I highly suggest nuking one in the microwave for about 15 seconds. Mmm!

    5. Tropicana Trop50 Raspberry with Green Tea. IMAG2599

Amanda and I used this to mix with our vodka on the boat the other day. It’s only 50 calories per 8 ounces – a great mixer for a lower calorie beverage. Oh, and say hello to Svedka, my favorite vodka. It’s fairly inexpensive and very smooth.

    6. Zone Perfect Perfectly Simple nutrition bars. Peanut Crunch BarToasted Coconut BarCranberry Almond Bar

I was recently sent some samples of these bars and am so grateful! Upon opening the wrapper of the first bar I tried, I thought they looked just like Larabars. They’re SO much better. They’re quite dense, but more nutty and flavorful, with a short list of ingredients.  My favorite was the Cranberry Almond.

    7. Buddy Fruits.image

Ok, ok. this is definitely glorified fruit puree, but I can be a sucker for cute branding/packaging. I’m every marketer’s dream come true. But hey, moms! Don’t you think your kiddos would much rather get their fruit and vegetable requirements through these? Adorbs.

For the record, the only reason I tried these was because you can get the applesauce packets in the kids meals at Chick-fil-A. True story.

    8. Jazz Apples.

These aren’t a new find, but more of a re-discovery thanks to Boding. We found these at Target of all places. They’re the best apples! Gotta love one of God’s most precious gifts to us – fresh fruit!

What new food products have you recently discovered?

Tell me your favorite a)packaged good and b)fresh fruit or vegetable.

    New, Fun Food Finds!

Here are a some new foods I’ve discovered either on websites, in stores, or through friends.

    1. Riceworks Tangy BBQ rice crisps.image

I’ve had the Salsa Fresca flavor and they were so good. I’d like to try these next.

    2. How much do you love the brand name Cookiehead? I saw these at La Guardia airport. Must find here!

    3. These granola bars in the dairy section of the grocery store and as a bit confused. Apparently they contain real milk in them. They come in Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter, Mixed Berry, Chocolate, and Strawberry.

    4. Weren’t SnackWell’s products all the rage in the 90s? Their slogan is “Be Bad. Snack Well.” Interesting, huh? I’m curious about Mint Fudge Shortbread cookies.

    5. Jello S’mores pudding. What!

    6. My friend Lauren told me about these beet chips. Holy cow.

    They also make apple snacks.

    7. Some like it hot, hot, hot!

    8. I see VitaTops on blogs a lot. Are they actually good or are you guys tricking yourselves?

    9. These were spotted at Whole Foods. The bars contain ONLY fruit.

    10. These Pure Bars look really good and come in a ton of flavors: chocolate brownie, cranberry orange, apple cinnamon, cherry cashew, wild blueberry, and dark chocolate berry.

Which ones have you seen or tried?

    The Friday Five

    1. What I’m Reading: I finished Fifty Shades Darker last weekend and immediately purchased the third book of the trilogy:

I’m trying to read this one slowly for two reasons: 1)It’s the last one – I’m kind of sad, and 2) I read the first two so fast that I missed a lot of details, and this one seems the most serious of them all. Anyone finished with the trilogy? Which book was your favorite?

    2. What I’m Listening to:  After shamelessly posting Justin Bieber last Friday, I figured I share something a little less, uh, teeny-bopper. This is my favorite song off of Nicki Minaj’s latest album, Roman Reloaded:

Tell me you’re not dancing in your chair right now. [PS: Thank you, Carolyn, for making me listen to that song first. xo Smile]

    3. Memes I’m Loving:

WHEN I GET TO THE MOVIE THEATER EARLY AND GET A GOOD SEAT

And because I love love love Betty White, this one cracked me up.

WHEN SOMEONE ASKS WHAT I’M INTERESTED IN

    4. Foods I’m in Search of: Remember when I made those disgusting pickle popsicles last Summer? Yes, that was gross. The other day, my friend Brandy tagged me in this picture:

Apparently they can be purchased at Wal-Mart. Yikes. Btw, I’m pretty sure that 25% of my tagged facebook photos are actually of food. 90% of said food photos are pickles/frickles.

I also read about this bar in Fitness Magazine and now I need it! Dear Corazonas, please send this hungry girl some snacks. image

    5. What I’m Bookmarking:

Thanks, Rick, for this one. Too bad I am actually the nazi and not the hugger.

    HAPPY FRIDAY!
