What I’m Loving Wednesday Version 6.0

1. About a month ago, one of my readers contacted me for information about moving to Charleston. Closer to her move date, Hannah revealed that she also worked for Blackbaud (at our Cambridge office) but was transferring to headquarters!! On Monday, her first day in the office, she brought me a jar of pickles from her home state of Pennsylvania! How sweet of her! IMAG0384

2. After reviewing Uno Mas on Monday evening, Matt and I walked the bridge. Before we started we played on the equipment at the foot of the bridge. Look at this gymnast! Such balance.IMAG0394
As we all know, I have no balance so I stuck to the monkey bar. IMAG0397

How freaking creepy is this picture?IMAG0398

3. I spent this afternoon reading Twilight in a hammock by the water. (I’m housesitting with Lucy at her aunt’s house.)IMAG0407

I’m declaring myself obsessed with this book. Like I said before, I know that I’m behind, but shoot, it is GOOD! Everyone keeps telling me the books get better, too. By then I’ll just want to be a vampire or something.

I’m also loving this post from Price’s wall:vamps

4. I’m meeting this pretty lady for lunch today! image

Sarah and I are going to Laura Albert’s on Daniel Island. They have delicious food! Now go check out her hilarious blog on her transition from NY to the South!

5. This Bits of Truth:

6. This picture from last weekend! Such awesome girlfriends!288866_10150324484062442_621507441_9394177_4883616_o

Sorry for the quick post, but I have to go catch up with Bella and Edward, haha!

What I’m Loving Wednesday Version 5.0

1. Kira sent me a pic of the largest baby carrot I’ve ever seen. I can’t decide what I like more – the carrot or her Lilly bag.67

2. When I bought my hideous blog shirt last week, I also noticed this gem at Homegoods: IMAG0278I could hardly believe my eyes – when did Mt. Pleasant get so fancy? Sadly, this does not match my bedroom. Or any room in my apartment for that matter. Could I hang it in my car? It certainly  matches there.

3. Phillip, my friend from Eco (former gym), sent me these pickle gifts he saw in Helen, Ga. Someone take me to Georgia STAT.

Pickle mints – nobody would kiss me.  Helen-20110723-00288

Pickle toothpicks – again, nobody would kiss me.Helen-20110723-00286

Pickle soap – one more time, nobody would kiss me. Guess I shouldn’t go to Georgia.Helen-20110723-00287

4. Clif came out with new bars!!

If you eat Clif bars, which bar/flavor do you prefer? The Carrot Cake bar is heavenly. I also love the Kid Z Bars and I’m excited to try the new crispy version!

5. Sometimes I feel ultra creative after a glass of wine. 270782_10100107570799178_12711601_45336658_1377350_nI’m pretty sure he appreciated it, as his comment on it was: “It's just so special, I feel like everything I receive from here on out will pale in comparison.” Little does he know, I can do wonders with a box of markers.

6. This:

7. My blog’s facebook page is only 17 people away from having 1,000 fans! Eeeeeeeeeh! If you’re not already, become a fan here!

Bringing Home the Bread. And the Bacon.

Carbs, carbs, carbs. That’s all I want when I’m tired. As soon as I saw Emily’s post on her newest recipe, I had to have it. Date Walnut Bread with Chocolate? YES!DSC_2565 (1280x853)

The recipe was fairly simple to make and created such a beautiful loaf! Yes, bread can be beautiful. I have little to no patience when it comes to baked goods, you all know this. Knowing that bread can completely fall apart if sliced too soon, I waited the recommended twenty minutes to remove from the pan. DSC_2576 (1280x853)

I did not, however, wait to slice it. And of course, it fell apart. Crap. Who has the patience for this kind of thing? I wanted warm bread with melted chocolate, darn it! DSC_2570 (1280x853)
Can you blame me?

Earlier today, my blog and I were featured on the Dine With Sal facebook page. Dine With Sal is the restaurant group that includes my favorite place everrrrr, Mustard Seed. I was pretty excited about that.image

Oh, and that job they’re talking about? Yeah, that happened. As of April 1st, I started working for Blackbaud, a company that provides software for non-profit organizations. In my role as a Communications Specialist, I will be responsible for reviewing and editing client deliverables and communications. Hello, grammar and typos! My team also develops company communications and newsletters. I am so pleased with this company and am very excited to be working for them!

Random Friday Tidbits

As of this month, the Oxford English Dictionary now recognizes the words “Nom nom” and “sammich.” Gag. For more words and phrases I can’t stand, see my post Foodie Terms That Make Me Cringe. What words make you cringe?

. . .

I recently read an article on Geek Sugar about a survey on annoying facebook friends. Taken directly from this article, here are the 5 types of annoying facebook users, according to women.

1. The Complainer: The most annoying type of friend, according to 63 percent of participants, is the complainer — someone who gripes about everything that goes wrong in her life and spreads negativity.

2. The Crazy Baby Lady: Fifty-seven percent of respondents say they are friends with at least one baby crazy friend, who posts pics every time her baby drools, smiles, takes a step, or falls asleep. In other words, all the time.

3. The Documentarian: Sixty-five percent of women on Facebook are friends with someone who posts status updates, photos, or videos about everything happening in her life, whether it's interesting or not.

4. The Drama Queen: Sixty-one percent of study respondents are friends with at least one person who turns everything into a crisis.

5. The Poser: Forty percent of participants say they know someone on Facebook who paints a perfect life for herself on the social network, even if it's not reality.

Do you fit into any of these categories? Or do you have any friends that do? I miiiiight fit the description of The Documentarian but only because I post a lot of pictures and have a separate page for my blog. I know some girls who are way worse, but it never bothers me. I also know a lot of Drama Kings. And the crazy baby ladies? You can’t be upset with them, but maybe they should start a blog. :)

. . .

Thank you to all of you who responded to my request for the lurkers to comment! I’m so excited to check out all of your blogs!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
